Churning Butter

While visiting family in Pennsylvania, we were tooling about the Amish Shopping Center 'Kitchen Kettle Village' and decided to take an 'olde fashioned buggy ride' to see a bit of the farmlands.

When asked if the township Leacock was pronounced 'Lee-cock' our 87 year old Amish guide responded "It's 'lay-cock'. Leacock, Intercourse, Blue Ball and other such named towns..."

I'd say the Amish certainly have a sense of humor.
